Résumé de concours

We have a strong vision of what we want our fashion designer signature logo to look like.

The name is Château Marquis, which must have the French accent circumflex above the â in Château. This is to represent pair a male designers that are masculine men.

The capital C in Château and M in Marquis can both go crazy with artistic flair like the first letter of a chapter in an old hand written piece of literature. Please try to make the art somewhat masculine. Not to many flowers, etc... maybe a single black rose? Along those lines if you decide to get frilly.

The name should be written with a thin to medium paintbrush effect (black on white background) and be a more angled italic style to give off the signature slant effect.

Calligraphy meets Old English/French lettering on a signature slant is what we are going for. An example of the Old English/French letters we are going for are attached as example which we want the signature to closely resemble in font style.

“Great work in typography. Follow my directions exactly and gave my signature the exact feel I wanted with extra artistic flair I was pleasantly surprised with. Nailed it!”

#54 and #15 and pretty much tied. I will have to consult my business partner to see which he likes between the 2 if no one can come up with something that beats them.

The C and M art has to be apart of the words not separate. I am not trying to create a logo of the C and M.... I want the signature #15 is still the best reference.

Make sure with the art that surrounds the C and M that it can clearly be identified from a distance... a good test is to stand 5-10 feet away from your monitor after you design it and see if you easily make out C and M.

I updated the contest brief a bit to reflect my new inspiration by #15 . Some of the C and M art you all are producing is magnificent, but please incorporate into the spelled out signature instead of separating it as its own logo only. Also this signature is to represent a pair of male designers that are masculine. This limits the dainy, and girly aspect of too many flowers and too much rounding of the letters and artistic flair....

#15 really caught my eye with the C and the M it has art which we are looking for. I think it is a great idea to go crazy on the artistic aspect of the C and M to make them stand out as original. #15 is now strongly in the lead for bringing that imagination and risk to the signature

#8 is the best by far right now it has the signature paint brush effect. However it doesn't closely resemble the original font I give enough.

It seems like everyone is pretty much copying the font I gave or doing straight cursive and not combining the two with a paintbrush effect. I want the original font's shape and spacing but with a paintbrush signature effect on a slight slant. A happy middle between the two kinds presented so far.

I apologize the circumflex somehow on the site got messed up in my brief. I am looking for â. Hopefully this shows up right... it looks like a ^ symbol above the first a in Chateau. #25 has it right.
