Contest Brief
Our company Capital Ceramics www.capitalceramics.com is designing a new product line of pottery glazes (see Mayco, Duncan for competitor ideas.) The name of the brand is Aurora Pottery Products, with Aurora being the logo part. We need a logo that will be used on pint jars of product of glaze (think paint) products. The logo must be in both black/white, one color (red or orange, other) and also a full color version. Each version will be used for different things. The logo on pint bottles could be very small, no more than an inch. The logo will also make it to the web site and printed literature.
The logo name "Aurora" means "the dawn" in Greek. it is associated with the Aurora Borealis or "Northern Lights" and for us, symbolizes bright, brilliant , artistic colors. The product is sold to school educators (mostly), professional and hobbyist pottery artists. Our competition has very plain, amateurish labeling on their product. It should present itself as premium product, the best available.

We are doing this not only to get a new logo, but to find a designer to work with us on our websites and other businesses.

We kept the brief ....brief. We are flexing with the ideas that are coming through. I find that telling an artist exactly what I want limits the product to my own ideas...which means that I never get something great!
