The Project:
We are a new media startup, called Where They Stand which shows where people stand on political issues and other topical subjects. Some keywords are: Voting, Open information, Questions, Answers, Politics. Since we are a new media startup the logo needs to have a sense of professionalism with a modern feel.

Elements:
The Logo should have 2 elements. The text “Where They Stand” and a small graphic to accompany it. Both parts of the logo, the icon and text, should work together as well as separately. We would like a Hi-res PSD or vector.
the font used in this mockup is gotham. we like the different weights of gotham but we are looking for interesting variations, outlines and ideas.

Colours:
Needs to work in black and white but also can be colourful.
a red we like is rgb(191, 57, 43) but any colours is fine

Ideas:
we love the foursquare icon design (attached) and would like to evoke a similar feel.
We like the design of a star or similar shapes but we are open to ideas.
