Design a Logo and thumbnail for a company that has a website and creates publications of books, worksheets and engages on multiple social websites.
We have an existing logo that needs updating. (see attached)
The logo must be simple and less is better. The logo needs to be easily identified across the various media.
The colours need to be web safe and need to be similar to our existing logo.
The thumbnail (square) needs to be simple and be easily recognised.
The thumbnail will be used on sites as the Profile picture on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Tumblr, Slideshare etc.
The thumbnail can be a cutdown section of the logo.
The logo and thumbnail will need to be contained in a coloured border.
The logo must have Nowmaster and the thumbnail can use NM.
Any text must be a common font e.g. Arial
Colours must be black, white and orange (not sure of correct colour code). No additional colours to be added.
Colours can be different shades of the above colours.
www.nowmaster.com is the current website.
For printing, the file needs to be high resolution, we can reduce the file size for the web ourselves.
Logo needs to be created in a vector based program, we prefer Adobe Illustrator, as this is our editing program.

I have ranked all entries to give everyone feedback.
Low rank for fonts that are not common, or script or create a trailing tail below the line of text.
Low rank if design is either not contained in a border or could be easily contained in a border.
Low rank if spelled with a "s" at the end of Nowmaster.
The maximum number of colours is 3 (Black, white, orange) but you can use less colours. This helps with printing costs if less colours are used in design. I will need the pantone colour number for the orange that is the winning entry.
Low rank if a thumbnail square cannot be easily extracted from the logo or if you design an additional thumbnail it needs to be contained in a square border.
The logo does need to unique so that it does not infringe copyright of others.

  sir, white color will be consider as background (Transparent). so this is two color job including black & orange. white color wont be consider as a print color. if you still need in less color then i can provide it in single color (orange). pls reply

  True, white is not a colour that is charged at the printer. So the two colours are black and orange. From a business point of view I am happy to pay the printer up to (2) colours on white paper. From a design point of view, I have not made a decision of one colour or two colours. So the best thing to do is present your design in both styles with 1 and 2 colours.

I have ranked all new submissions.
Things that are working well are:
Different shades of the three colours or use of only two colours
Different mix of fonts, but still using the simple fonts e.g. Arial,Verdana
Different style of font per letter e.g. Italic, bold.
Different colour of segments of letter.
Border displaying small creative twist e.g. twin lines, different corners,

Still need to show border design per logo and the thumbnail will be cropped to a square so must suit a square design.

Great,
some designs are not staying within scope of design brief, especially with the thumbnail. The thumbnail must be easily recognised as Nowmaster, so any thumbnail that cannot show the difference between the N and M will be rejected. A good design would allow the user to see that there is a difference and not confuse the viewer. Some designs are too "flowing with script font" this also will be rejected.
Looking for simple use of font, colour but still create a great "arrhhaa" moment.
Some excellent results and will start to reject a number when our team arrives to view the present designs.
