Résumé de concours
HAVANZA is going to be a Business Directory and Marketing Agency.
Two words combined HAVANA (the city) + AVANZA (Spanish for "move/go forward") = HAVANZA. Both letters, H and Z, make the difference.
Visually I need it to say HAVANA and the Z should be introduced subtly. I prefer small caps, however I'm open to suggestions.
Should be minimalist, negative space, vintage or hand written. Simple and easy to read.
No backgrounds, store fronts, buildings or real estate themes.
Two, maximum three color design.
Respect spacing, I'm very detail oriented.
DON'T submit the same design in different colors or with fancy backgrounds. I'm not looking for quantity, but quality.
For your inspiration, think of Cuban iconic things such as:
Sun, Beaches, Palms, Tropic, Rum, Cigars, Music, Classic Cars, Baseball, Fruits, Capitol, Colonial Buildings, Pirates & Sail Ships, Mojito, Alligators, Hummingbirds, Parrots, Tourism.
As a Business Directory, Pins, Maps, Location, Geography, Routes, Signs, Compasses, etc could be helpful, but not necessary objects to use.
Cuba is a Sleeping Country wanting to move forward, but progress is constantly avoiding it for political and economical reasons.
The logo can represent it's steadiness in a sarcastical way. I have no problems with it as long as it looks professional.
I'm not sealing the contest but that doen't mean I want you to copy from each other.
Attached there's an image with a few designs for ideas. DON'T COPY.
Be original, Be a designer!
Now if you consider yourself one, submit your proposal.
Commentaire de l'employeur
“I started a contest and had to extend it because of the poor quality of the entries. Where have you been before? I had to review 1000+ entries, but it was worth the waiting. Right before the contest ended I got this cool logo. Completely different, clean and outside the box. That's what a designer does, he/she listens, acknowledges and explores... Then he/she turns your world upside down with a pitch you didn't expect. Thank you so much!”
