Looking for a symbolic cartoon style mascot for my Java software management & deployment suite. The name of the software is Honcho (which is defined as the person in charge). I would like the mascot to be a business robotic humanoid being. It does not specifically have to be a robot but it needs to be some kind a character without race (so no human beings!) and it needs to exhibit business man attributes (like briefcases and/or business suits).

I have attached the current logo (lunapic_136683209760505_.png) that I am using because it is something that I found exhibits a lot of the qualities I want in the Honcho logo. Unfortunately it is not my work and I cannot copyright it. I would like something LIKE this but not something that is equivalent to this. Please do not just copy it and consider your work done. I want something unique as it is the only way I feel it will be universally distinguishable as the Honcho symbol. If I can Google and find a design similar to your entry, it will be rejected. I like the fact that the current logo is not a human being (but a rock like being) and is wearing a business suit. His suit and facial expression look very much like someone who is in charge, a.k.a the head honcho. I would like the Honcho symbol to focus around this business man/leader/person in charge theme. I also like that he is isometric/3D. This is an important quality to me as I would like him to stand out. A flat mascot just doesn't look as good as one that has 3D qualities. Granted it doesn't need to be full on 3D, it just needs to look 3D as far as shading and things like that go.

The second attached image (51854d6e8e2e0_thumb900.jpg) shows a design I also really like because of its size. If you are going to do more than just the head and body it needs to be small enough to be re-sized into an icon.

I will require the logo to be a vector graphic as I plan on having posters and other materials with this logo on it.

Please note that their are no color restrictions.
With that being said, my website (http://www.codebrig.com/) demonstrates some of the colors I've been using and that I prefer, but those colors are not set in stone nor are they required for the Honcho logo.

The other 10 images represent the style I'm looking for. Small body if you are doing it with the body otherwise just a big head (with or without upper torso).

  As far as playful goes, I'm not too sure. I don't really know which would look better. I've had friends suggest making the Honcho happy and those who suggest making him look serious (because it would more closely exhibit a boss). This is honestly up to the designer, my personal preference leans more towards a serious facial expression.
