Hello,

I need a better header for my site http://www.normalbreathing.com/
The site is about breathing exercising and techniques, mostly techniques practiced by hundreds of Soviet and Russian medical doctors. But there are now hundreds of breathing practitioners worldwide who use the same methods.

Your goal is to change the current header (currently new versions of the header are tested).
You can find one of the version online (jpg file) and here as a PSD file:

This PSD file has several layers, including phrases, the golden key, clouds, and the Earth.

As you can easily see, the current header is too dark (there is a dark filter there in order to make words readable).

My suggestion is to leave the golden key above the Earth on the left side, but change the colors of the site name, and maybe change colors of all additional phrases.

If you use your images, make sure that these images can be legally used by others.

Probably, you can use another image of the sky with clouds. For example, clouds can stay only of the left side (and then you can have blue letters above the clouds), while the title of the site can be made of gold, embedded or looking as if they are golden letters.

The right side may not have clouds at all, but only a blue sky. Then you can make the letters on the right side white.

Other suggestions and designs are welcome. You may invent something different and new.

I start testing best designs in real conditions, for a few days each (the site gets over 500,000 unique visitors monthly), and see changes in bounce rates and in retention time. Then I ll make a decision.

I may reward 10 USD for the 3rd place, and 20 USD for the 2nd place, if these are good designs.

I will run the contest for 30 days, but you need to submit your files in 10 days so that I can test the suggested designs in real conditions. Today is May 7, 2013. The deadline for submissions is 17 May, 2013.

The winner will be asked to provide the PSD file (so that we may possibly change words later, either for some pages or the whole site).

It is a tiny bit worse than design No. 8. But overall results are nearly the same.
No.8 seems me light and relaxed, while No. 23 is dramatic and strong.

  i think you are just loosing time this way. ask your clients directly or send them link with this contest and they will tell you. Not changing headers and using every header for you site.
