Résumé du concours

A coloring and rendering job of the Tango water filtering bottle. The bottle features a filter that divides a canister into two reservoirs, and a lid with two spouts and caps corresponding to the two reservoirs. The material to be used are Eastman Tritan for the canister, and PP for most of the rest. The Tango bottle is for the environmentally friendly, health conscious crowd. An IGS file with the model of the Tango bottle is available on Dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/s/f800gf9xx7wh616/NPU600-1000-01%20with%20filter.igs

Looking for 6 color schemes, defined by different colors for the different parts of the bottle.

The only constraints on color are that the canister must be translucent, and the filter housing must be white (solid or translucent). Painting some of the surface of the canister (e.g., to have a solid band around the front button) in solid color is an option. The two caps may be translucent or solid.

Aside from the filter housing being in white, in any given scheme the remaining different parts of the bottle may all share one color, or each may have one of 2 colors defining the color scheme.

The palette used for all 6 schemes can be as few as 3 colors and as many as 7 (white counts as a color), and an orange and a blue are expected to be on the palette.

Bonus points will be given to entries that reuse a part with the same colors across more schemes (to minimize production costs), but the most weight will be given to the beauty of the schemes and images. Entries in the contest will be evaluated against photographs of competing products (Thermos, CamelBak, Korwater, Brita, …).

The logo in the attached file must be added to the model. Placement of the logo must be vertically under the hinge on the back of the bottle. The logo must not change except for size.

Renderings must be photo realistic. We require 4 renderings per color scheme, as follows:
- 2 images of the full bottle from different angles.
- 2 images close-up on 2 different areas of the bottle.

Timeline and deliverables:

1. May 24, 18:00 EST: Submit 6 images showing your chosen color schemes. Two of these images must be a photo realistic rendering showing the quality of the final images that you would deliver.
2. May 24, 22:00 EST: Contest winner selected.
3. May 27, 22:00 EST: Final 24 renderings are due, and 4 collages of the different images.
The source 3D models used for the renderings are required along with png or jpg images.

The material of the main canister is not transparent but translucent... the filter housing is PP for sure, and so is the filter guide (or holder) at the top of the filter. The seal around the filter will be an elastomer (which elastomer is not specified yet). I left it up to you to model all these as translucent or solid in your color schemes. Inside the filter housing is a block of activated carbon fiber, and it is included in the supplied model, and it is black of course.

These parts will likely be made from ABS. For the purpose of the rendering, and not being sure it would make a difference, I specified PP.

Polypropylene - a thermoplastic polymer.. I don't believe it would make much difference.. it is just to say that it will be plastic.
