This December, Fred (son of Paul) Frees is going to be releasing a comedy cd of songs. We're looking for a cd cover artist for the concept of: zombies singing. That's it. You're free to be as creative and artistic as you like. Our preference would be not too simplistic. No simple cartoons. But a work of art. It needn't be as detailed or realistic as an Iron Maiden cover, but it certainly Can be. Think artistic, and different. Even funny. Or scary. Have fun with it. ZOMBIES SINGING.

I don't understand. What idea do you think he took from you? Many people did a singer zombie holding a microphone and zombie band members. Frankly, it was the most obvious interpretation of the idea "zombies singing". Lol.

The end of the second week is approaching. If you don't pick a winner, I think the money is split among some of the top rated designs.

Most of the other entries here are just stolen from the web, others they say are their work but they are just photoshop edited.

It's bizarre that there isn't a better system in place to prevent this. Only the contest holder can report a designer. And if the report is considered valid, the designer is disqualified (uh, ya think??) and more action against them MIGHT be taken, though it is never stated what that action would be. I think those using material that isn't their own should be completely banned from entering contests and probably bidding on other jobs too. FOREVER. Or a couple years at least.

Nothing is copied in my drawing, u won't find anything like it on internet, the style is unique... is 100% made for this contest (also for my personal portfolio)... by sending the Photoshop file with all layers and so, it can be proved that it's entirely made by me.. entry #91

Can you please check entry #91 . It has a funny touch and also keeps the realism and zombie-ish feel.
I m interested in the feeling you get from the drawing, more precisley the singer. I can gladly change all the other elements, including font, background and other elements that you want to look in a particular way.

I can also easily prove I made it. It is physical art, not digital. Made of different paper parts that I could photograph doing a number of things. Sniffing flowers, going to the bathroom, etc. You could request some odd scenario and I could put my zombie people there, along with my name painted/written anywhere in the environment.

Could you please extend the contest a couple of days? We surely have a number of competitive designs but remaining timeframe may be too small for us to get you a jaw-dropping design. Folks, this is the 2nd contest I've done here. The first time I picked a winner, I was told afterwards that it was lifted from the internet. Now I'm hearing it again. How can I stop this from happening? Or should I just not do contests anymore?

You can do a search in google images, or ask when you choose the original image, if it is an illustrator always makes a 'picture by hand and then reworks ... even those who carry everything with photoshop or AI squirts a comp ... sorry for the bad english

Hi Findline,
This kind of thing is common on freelancer and you really shouldn't trust any of the work. Once you choose your favorite designs just contact each designer and require that they give you some kind of proof of originality. On top of that you can use google image search (http://www.google.com/insidesearch/features/images/searchbyimage.html) or tineye (http://www.tineye.com/) to double check that the work doesn't belong to another artist. Freelancer is filled with con artists on both sides, and weeding them out is an unfortunate part of the process.- il y a 12 ans
