Update 17 January 10:15: The stairs should be inside the building due to building restrictions. Also it attracts you to go upstairs and enjoy the view and life outside.
Update 15 January 23.00: A roof above the roof terrace is unfortunately not allowed due to restrictions of building. Further the stairs will connect the inside space with the roof terrace.

The task is to design an extension incl. roof terrace for a terraced house. The house is near a beach at an area of lakes. The theme I suggest is "beach life".

The dimensions are 4,9 meter wide and 4 meter long, max. Possible roof overhang is 40 cm. The hight of the new structure is 3,08 meter. A roof above the roof terrace is not allowed.

The dimension of the current living room is 4,80 meter wide, 4 meter long, 2,50 meter high.

Both spaces needs to become one and function as dinner room and mainly the living room. The roof needs to be strongly build due to the terrace on top. A strong construction is key.

The architect with the best initial impression of the design wins the job. Participating based on done work can help you win too. After anouncing the winning architect needs to develop the following products in order to complete the contest:

- External design
- Internal design
- Floor plan
- Construction drawing and specification of walls and roof incl. entree to roof terrace
- Specification materials for Construction
- Location lights, sockets, tv connection, (floor) heating

An 3D impression is a welcome extra, not essential.

So the contractor knows exactly what to do. Samples of done work are welcome. Alse please describe which tools/software you will use.

    Dear Contesters,

    Today is the day of the decision. Who will be the winner of the contest.

    It has been amazing to see your concepts. I very much appreciate your effort, expertise and creativity. There really has been some 5 star concepts. To highlight a few, the elegant designs of Fatema are amazing. The creative and multifunctional designing of Agung is inspiring. The Mexican/Spanish feeling of the concept of Juan makes you feel under the sun already. The idea of Aida to bring greenery from outside to inside was refreshing too. The mascular designs of Saumen & the elegant designs of Tamim more then deserve a note of appreciation aswell.

    Unfortunately we can only build 1 extension with roof terrace for this project. Therefore I've choosen one winner. The winner is #38 @Musaddek1980. I would describe his designing as natural, cost effective and well thought in detail. Thank you Meer and let's get the concept ready for the craftsman who will build it.

      Hello Irem, thanks for your question. I would like to have the roof terrace on the first floor. Under the roof terrace there will be the house extension. The roof terrace on the first floor gives a view over the beach, lake and surrounding nature/swamp.
