I'm not sure why it looks purple because I just used the header provided. But I can assure you it is the more so maroon color in the PSD file!

I will also be making the calendar say events instead of the month so it can be used year round!

The background would be flexible with the internal and home page so you would not need to create anything else, just reuse the navigation section and background!
